Open letter to Attorney General and Candidate Jerry Brown

Dear Jerry Brown,

You have made it clear during the second debate that you are pro-amnesty to the illegal immigrants and I cannot support that. I walk the streets in downtown Novato and the illegals are literally lined up on the streets looking for work and handouts. You’re in Oakland, so take a 30 minute drive up here to Novato and lets go for a walk down Redwood Blvd.

When my family came to America, they went through Ellis Island and immigrated from Europe the right way. They had to stand in line. I’m an American. I’m a Californian. If you want to be here get in line and do it the legal and proper way. No handouts. No amnesty. No welfare.

Meg Whitman’s ex-housekeeper and her lawyer disgust me. The lady enters the country illegally, lies to her employer to get her job, commits identity theft, fraud, perjury, and tax evasion but SHE is the victim? Why isn’t she in jail? These ARE still crimes, right?

I work part-time in downtown Oakland, Jerry, and it’s a mess. People urinating in the streets at 12th & Broadway on the escalators at the BART station, next to Clorox. It’s filthy. The city government is broke. The schools went bankrupt under your administration. The police department is laying off in droves. 80 officers the first time and a second round if tax increases aren’t passed. As Mayor, you and your administrative staff had to have seen this issue coming but did nothing to prevent it. When you were Governor previously you spent half your time outside of the state not doing your job. Ron Dellums seems to have taken a page from your playbook in his administration.

In all of your debates, lectures, and statements to the press you have yet to clearly state how you plan to fix California’s budget. I want to see details that you can implement with or without the state legislature supporting you. I want to see steps 1, 2, 3.

I’m an American, born and raised in California. I’m a moderate-Republican which means I vote for the best candidate regardless of party. I voted for Bill Clinton. I voted for Al Gore. I voted for John Kerry. I voted for Gray Davis. I voted (in the primary) for Hillary Clinton and not Barack Obama.

California is bankrupt because of career liberal-spewing politicians and organizations like the ACLU and NAACP who label anyone who speaks out a racist. Why is it racist that I should want the Attorney General and Governor to apply the laws of this state evenly to all people? California should be run like a business. It should be slim. It should be effective. It should contribute to society and not break the backs of its citizens and legal residents who pay the taxes that keep the government running.

Find me a reason to believe in you Jerry. Find me a reason to vote for you.
